Wishing Priyanka Chopra a very happy Birthday

Eleven years ago a seventeen year old girl from Jharkand shot to fame after she made her country proud by winning the 50th Miss World Pageant in London. She was the fifth Indian to achieve this feat and after that there was no stopping her. Yes we are talking about none other than every boy's dream girl Priyanka Chopra who celebrates her 29th birthday today. She may have given away her Miss World crown a while back but this stunning actress is here to stay and rule the Kingdom of Bollywood.
After making her Bollywood debut with The Hero: Love Story of a Spy opposite Sunny Deol, she went on to make her mark in Bollywood with mind-blowing performances in movies like Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Aitraaz, Waqt: The Race Against Time, Barsaat, Bluffmaster, Don, Fashion, Dostana, Kaminey and Anjaana Anjaani. With a fabulous performance in this year's 7 Khoon Maaf, PC is all geared up for her much awaited film Don 2-The Chase Continues opposite the King of Bollywood and her favorite co-star Shah Rukh Khan, which releases in December end.

The Kolkata leg of shooting for Anurag Basu's Ranbir Kapoor-Priyanka Chopra starrer " Barfee" has been postponed by a month.

The director, who's currently location-hunting in Kolkata, revealed that he would be back end-August as against the last-announced end-July to shoot certain portions of the film in the city.

Anurag, who had announced an early pack-up in Darjeeling, apparently "in rage", with an altercation breaking out between the crowd and the unit, is keeping the cards close to his heart. "Crowd is a huge problem wherever you go. It wouldn't be wise to disclose the shooting locales as I don't want a repetition of the problems that we've faced," he said. However, Anurag revealed that he's keen on shooting on the Howrah Bridge. "That's just one of the locations, I've so far zeroed in on. I like everything about Kolkata, but

I'm not letting the cat out of the bag," he added. Apart from the lead actors who've made news right from coming on board, the city is also abuzz with rumours of quite a few Tollywood actors gearing up for cameos in the film. Roopa Ganguly, as was speculated about, is a part of the film. On being prodded, Anurag said, "I had wanted a few actors from Kolkata. But their dates are blocked because of megaserials or other television programmes that they are part of.

Nothing can be finalized because of this." Also, heard that city singers will be considered in the music department, where Pritam Chakraborty is at the helm of affairs. "A whole host of Kolkata singers will be singing. But how far their songs can be used is something we'll need to figure out," Anurag said.

If all goes well, Kolkata is surely getting a large share of "Barfee".

Priyanka heads home for 29th birthday

After a break in Los Angeles, Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra is heading back home to celebrate her 29th birthday with her family.

"Heading home..LA's been amazing...but looking forward to seeing my family... my dad n my brother esp with everything that's happening wanna b home (sic)," Priyanka posted on her Twitter page.

She flew to Los Angeles straight from the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) weekend and awards ceremony in Toronto last month.

The National Award winning actress has a lot to look forward to this year. She has a line-up of films, including "Don 2: The Chase Continues", the "Agneepath" remake, "Barfee", "Krrish 2" and Kunal Kohli's next with Shahid Kapoor.

Priyanka has also signed up for a cameo in Shah Rukh Khan's mega-budget "RA.One". She seems to be on a roll!

Priyanka: I believe in simple celebrations

Priyanka Chopra plans to watch movies and go on a drive on her birthday this Monday. She talks about her love for spicy food and her dream man.

I have no extensive plans for my birthday but I want to watch lots of movies and just stay indoors. Since it’s monsoons, I would prefer to go on a drive or watch the rains from my home. I love the sound and smell of rain.

I believe that personal celebrations should be simple and among close people, so I will be with people I love.

Most of the times I prefer to stay away from the junk and spicy food, but occasions like my birthday are special and I love to gorge on paranthas.

I will wear something stylish and comfortable on my special day and will match my outfits with huge rings.

People have been asking me about my ‘dream man’ and I have kept mum. But I would love a guy who is honest, intelligent and funny. He should also have a good smile.”

I don't do films for money: Priyanka

The actress says money has never been a deciding factor of her life.
She is 29, independent and one of the most admired desi girls in India and abroad.
Priyanka Chopra made a debut in films about 9 years back, in 2003. We asked the actress what keeps her going? Does fame that comes with being an actor or the meaty pay package act as crucial driving forces too?
"I come from a middle class background and fame hasn't changed me as a person. I make decent money now but money was never a driving factor for me. I am doing films because it's like spirituality to me. I am passionate about working in films and that is what keeps me going" stated the actress.

Shah Rukh Khan gifts guitar to Priyanka Chopra

There has been growing buzz about Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra's close friendship for months. The actress, who claims to get tongue-tied near Badshah Khan, brought in her birthday with him at Filmistan Studios on Sunday night.
PC, who is doing a cameo in Ra.One, was shooting with Khan and Sanjay Dutt. The trio was filming an action sequence. Post the shooting that ended at midnight, Khan gifted Priyanka an expensive acoustic guitar for her birthday. The actress loves musical instruments and enjoys playing music and singing.

Shah Rukh Khan's 'Ra.One' is already loaded with attractive superhero storyline, high defying action sequences, sizzling hottie Kareena Kapoor, international pop singer Akon... As if that was not enough, the makers have now gone ahead to make it more exciting package.
News in the town of late is that the production Red Chillies Entertainment has signed on Priyanka Chopra and Sanjay Dutt for special appearances in 'Ra.One'. Wow, two such impressive personalities, aren't they? Priyanka, who already co-starred with SRK in 'Don', now 'Don 2' and played cameos in 'Billu Barber' and 'Om Shanti Om', is an ardent fan of the Badshah and when she heard the 'Ra.One' offer Priyanka immediately gave her consent. The 'Desi Gal' is said to feature in a long-drawn romantic sequence in the movie and will also get to perform a lot of stunts as well. As 'Ra.One' is essentially a fantasy film, this song is considered as a sweet dream sequence, sources said.
Coming to Sanjay Dutt's involvement..... Sources revealed that Shah Rukh looks up to Dutt as his elder brother and he was quite gung ho about the latter's macho avatar in 'Agneepath' remake. SRK was so impressed with Sanjay's beefy image that he felt that they should bring him on board to do an action cameo.
Cool, 'Ra.One' is surely going great guns, we say.... Indeed it's shaping up to be something to watch out...

Why Piggy Chops wants Asha's stockings?

Why is Priyanka Chopra inquiring about the body stockings that Asha Parekh once wore, and why did she send designer Manish Malhotra to Parekh's residence?

Priyanka Chopra may be Bollywood's ultimate fashionista, but she has, of late, been hobnobbing with Asha Parekh, to gather dope on her dressing style in the 1960s.
Not just that, she also sent fashion designer Manish Malhotra to visit Parekh to understand her glam look of old better. All this is being done for her untitled film with Shahid Kapoor that will be directed by Kunal Kohli.
The film is set in the 1960s and Chopra's character of an actress is based on Parekh, a veteran actress of that period.
Chopra has already met Parekh once, for what is being called 'preliminary talks' and plans to visit her for a lengthy discussion later. In the meantime, she sent Malhotra, her designer for the film, to Parekh's residence.
The fashion icon of yesteryears, who set major trends with her look in films like Teesri Manzil, Jab Pyar Kisi Se Hota Hai, Caravan, Pyar Ka Mausam and Aan Milo Sajna, said, "Yes, I met Priyanka at a function. She wanted to know about my clothes and makeup from the 1960s. She said she would meet me later to discuss her look in a film."
So what did Malhotra discuss with Parekh?
"We had a long chat about my clothes, hair, makeup, etc. He wanted to know details like, if I wore a revealing costume, did I cover myself after a shot?
Did I drape myself with a dupatta while walking from the makeup room to the set? But I hardly ever wore anything revealing. He then asked me about body stockings and how frequently they were used in my time."
Malhotra wanted to know about body stockings that Parekh and Helen wore to cover an exposed belly or back, because Chopra too, would then consider it for her role. Is Parekh flattered to be Chopra's role model?
Parekh laughed, "I don't know about that, but what I do know, is that the retro look is back. I wish the look is not hampered by too much exposure, though." Let's see if Chopra can live up to Parekh's expectations.

SRK gifts Italian bike to Sanjay Dutt & acoustic guitar to Priyanka Chopra

We all know that Priyanka Chopra and Sanjay Dutt will be making a cameo in Shah Rukh's upcoming film Ra.One. Well, Dutt who willingly did the cameo in the film for free was 'repaid' with a thoughtful gift by SRK.
Dutt, whose passion for bikes is well known, received a gift worth approx Rs. 15 lakhs in the form of a high-end Italian cruiser bike from SRK! Speaking about this, Dutt said "I really appreciate what Shah Rukh has done. It's a thoughtful gesture."
And that's not all. Priyanka Chopra shot for Ra.One yesterday, despite it being her birthday. The shoot went on till late night. SRK however, thanked Priyanka in his own sweet way. Since Priyanka loves musical instruments, he gifted an expensive acoustic guitar to the actress, after the shoot.

Salman approaches Katrina to sizzle in an item number

Highly impressed with Katrina Kaif’s ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ in 'Tees Maar Khan', Salman Khan approaches Katrina Kaif to sizzle in an item number for his film ‘Bodyguard’. It will not be an ordinary item number but the song wil be played in the opening credits of the film.

The item number will be composed by Himsh Reshammiya and choreographed by Ganesh Acharya. Another speciality of the song is that the item number will fall along the line of James Bond’s opening credits.

The song will be shot on July 26. Salman and Katrina as a lead pairing will be next seen in Yash Raj’s ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ to be directed by Kabir Khan of ‘New York’.

Shahrukh Khan held at Mumbai airport

Shahrukh Khan’s London and Holland trip with his family proved too pricey for him. On landing at Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, he was stopped by the custom officials for carrying excess baggage. He was released ony after paying custom duty of Rs 1.5 lakh.

He was stopped for interrogation while his family was allowed to go home. Only after extensive investigation and paying a hefty custom duty, King Khan was allowed to go home.

King Khan and his family have done excess shopping and they retuned back with 20 baggage. He was treated like any general public and was not provided any special treatment.

An eyewitness says, "The customs treated Khan, no differently than other passengers. They didn't give him any special treatment. He wasn't even allowed to make a phone call."

Customs commissioner, P M Govande confirms, "Yes, he was interrogated but it is a routine thing. Whenever people bring stuff they have to pay duty on it.

It was nearly R 1.5 lakh and the interrogation took time because he was carrying a lot of stuff."

Kareena, Priyanka fight for Madhur's 'Heroine'

Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra’s fight turns uglier. They are the two top contenders for Madhur Bhandarkar’s most ambitious project ‘Heroine’. Actually, Madhur has written the script of ‘Heroine’ on keeping Kareena in mind. But for some intimate scenes, Bebo walked out of the project. In the meantime, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan gave green signal to star in the film. But he again got a big blow when Ash’s pregnancy news came into limelight.

It is believed that Madhur had approached Kareena to do the film and the actress is thinking over it again. On the other hand, Priyanka Chopra had expressed her desire to work with the realistic director again. Priyanka shot to fame with Madhur’s ‘Fashion’, a film based on the fashion industry and won huge accolades.

Both the actresses knew it very well that if they get the opportunity to star in the project then it would be a film of their lifetime as the movie is generating lot of buzz. Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Heroine’ is considered to be one of the most prestigious projects.

After the ugly spat in 2008, Katrina Kaif has stopped throwing birthday bash. Ever since the spat between Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan, Kat on her birthday maintains a low profile. The beautiful actress shunned the report about her birthday celebrations that is doing rounds the media. She said that she has neither celebrated birthday with Ranbir Kapoor nor spend a day at Salman’s residence.

She also denied the report of Shahrukh Khan celebrated her birthday at Mannat. "Nope. No celebrations for me. I guess it's not meant to be. No party for my birthdays. I was with my Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara team on Friday night. We did nothing to bring in my birthday. My friends Arjun Kapoor, Kabir Khan etc. had a quiet dinner at a Chinese restaurant," the Namaste London actor told.

"In any case, I don't believe in bringing in birthdays. My birthday was on Saturday. I spent it quietly with my mother. And I did not meet Ranbir or Salman on Friday night."

She has apparently planned to celebrate with friends and family but dropped her plans due to the Mumbai blasts.

"She was promoting her new film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara with the cast and crew on Friday until midnight when everyone decided it was time to bring in her birthday. Katrina refused, arguing that any kind of celebration at this time would be odd. Someone pointed out to her that it was a very private get-together and not a party. But Katrina refused outright arguing that it wasn't about right or wrong but about not feeling up to it," a source explained.

Katrina spends time at Salman's house

On January 15th, Katrina Kaif booked a table in her name at a fancy Chinese restaurant some distance away from her house for party and present at the dinner were Arjun Kapoor(Boney Kapoor's son)Ayan Mukerjee, Kabir Khan, Alvira Agnihotri.

The next day on her birthday on 16th July, after spending some time promoting her film ZNMD, she left for Salman Khan’s residence (Galaxy Apartments, Bandstand) for a special lunch.

Least caring about her diet plans, Katrina ate fully. The menu includes kheema-pav, rajma-chawal and a lot of other dishes that the Khan household is known for.

Informs a source, “For once Kat ate to her hearts content with no diet constraints. Later in the evening, she spent time with her personal assistant Sandhya and her team planning the look test for her film Ek Tha Tiger. Today Katrina will spend the day doing her look test. Salman Khan is on his farm at Panvel

And though he was expected to join Kat for the test, he is likely to rehearse for a song for his next release Bodyguard instead.''

Shiv Sena slams Shahrukh for throwing party

Shiv Sena has got another reason to fight against the Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan. They slammed Shahrukh Khan for throwing party at his residence post the Mumbai blasts. Targeting King Khan, Siv Sena said when Mumbai was mourning the death of so many innocent people, how can Shahrukh Khan think of throwing a party at his residence.

Shahrukh threw a bash at his residence to celebrate Katrina Kaif’s birthday and also arranged a private screening of ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’. Present at the party was Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Chunky Pandey, Abhay Deol, Katrina Kaif, Karan Johar.

The party’s mouthpiece ‘Saamna’ said that when several prominent personalities called off their birthday and Guru poornima celebrations how can Shahrukh ignore the tragic incident and throw a party.
